Music Streaming Changing the Music Industry - Spotify and Napster
Spotify is a online music application it allows you to listen to music from a selected range of major ad independent record labels, including Sony, EMI, Warner music group and universal for paying a monthly fee and lets you listen to an unlimited amount of music. Spotify launched in October 2008 in Sweden and as of 2011 it is available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the united states. Spotify changes the way people listen to music drastically, you can know pay 10£ a month to listen to unlimited amounts of music and they even offer a offline mode where it is the same as if you were to download the music.
Napster was originally a peer-to-peer file sharing internet service that emphasized sharing audio files, the orignal company had legal problems over a copyright infringement and got closed done, but it was eventually acquire by roxio . In its second incarnation Napster because an online music store.
These types of music websites have changed the music industry because know instead of buying a few songs you can pay a monthly fee and have as many as you want.
